You don’t need to become someone else to lead powerfully.
If you’re a high-achieving woman in a male-dominated space, the pressure to perform, adapt, or self-edit isn’t a personal flaw - it’s the cost of leading without internal authority.
This work is about what happens when you stop self-abandoning - and start leading from who you actually are.
YANN DANG | TEDX TALK
Reclaiming anger: A woman's birthright
Yann challenges the cultural conditioning that teaches women to suppress their anger. Yann explores the story of how girls grow into women who learn to cry instead of rage, to appear calm instead of assertive, to bury anger instead of using it. She weaves in research showing that anger, when wisely harnessed, increases motivation, focus, and performance. Yet while men’s anger is rewarded with status, women expressing the same emotion are penalized as “difficult” or “unstable.” Drawing on relationship research from John Gottman, Yann explains that anger - when expressed clearly - can strengthen relationships by fostering mutual influence, while silence erodes connection. Anger, she argues, is not destruction - it is direction.
This isn’t about confidence, communication tips, or learning how to be more polished.
this is identity level expansion.
It’s about what happens to women who lead for years inside systems that quietly reward self-editing, emotional restraint, and over-functioning.
Nothing is “wrong” - but something is costing you.
Clarity. Energy. Self-trust.
This work names that cost - and offers a way to lead without paying it.

Yann Dang is a former global finance leader turned executive coach for high-achieving women navigating power, pressure, and visibility inside male-dominated environments and host of a top 2% podcast.
After years inside senior leadership roles, she saw the same pattern repeat: women weren’t lacking capability—they were over-adapting to survive systems that rewarded performance over internal authority.
Her work now focuses on helping women lead without self-abandoning—so their presence, decisions, and influence are grounded in who they actually are, not who they’ve learned to perform as.
Yann’s ideas on leadership and emotional authority have been shared from the TEDx stage and published in Forbes.
Yann’s Mission
To help 1,000 women a year advance into leadership without burning out, self-abandoning, or performing their way forward.
Not by asking women to become tougher, quieter, or more palatable. But by helping them build the internal authority required to lead with clarity, conviction,
and sustainability—especially in environments that weren’t designed for them.
This framework is where that work begins.
What clients Are Saying
“Working with Yann Dang over the past two years has been one of the most impactful investments I’ve made in myself as a leader.
When I started, I had the drive and the capability, but I often found myself holding back, over-accommodating, or softening my voice to keep the peace. Through our work together, that shifted in a meaningful way.
I’m now far more confident standing up for myself and for others. I speak up in rooms where I used to hesitate, and I no longer feel the need to shrink to make others comfortable. That alone has changed how I show up as a leader and how I’m perceived.
One of the biggest transformations has been in how I communicate. I’ve moved from leading with emotion to articulating my perspective with clarity, structure, and data. I’m able to back up my position, influence decisions more effectively, and have stronger, more productive conversations across our leadership team.
Yann has a unique ability to challenge you while still creating a space that feels grounded and intentional. She doesn’t just give advice, she helps you build the awareness and tools to lead yourself differently.
Things are genuinely better. I’m more confident, more direct, and more aligned in how I show up every day.
I’m incredibly grateful for the work we’ve done together.”

Chief Financial Officer, Construction Industry, Chief Member“It may sound like an exaggeration, but it’s not…working with Yann changed my life in ways that working with other coaches (and therapists) for much longer periods of time never did.
She helped me not only find my voice, but begin to own it, and lead from it. I have stopped waiting for permission to act, to decide, to disagree, Instead, I’m now operate from within a place of authority.
In fact, I’ve gone from compliant to quietly confidant, guarded to centered and grounded, and emotionally reactive to thoughtful and resolved.
Yann has a true gift for helping people identify the root cause of their challenges and guiding them toward the kind of change that makes a profound and lasting impact – I know that’s work my work with her did for me!”
Thank you, Yann!
